Originally constructed in 1986 and expanded in 2006, the Hoy Parking Garage is a primary parking structure at Cornell University for both employees and visitors to campus. With 850 parking spaces, including eighteen reserved spaces for fuel-efficient and alternative-fuel vehicles, the garage acts as a gateway to Cornell and helps keep cars out of central campus.
Since its construction, the Hoy Parking Garage has undergone a series or renovations to improve the structure and add technology such as occupancy sensors controlling lighting, a tire inflation station, and two electric vehicle-charging stations. These changes have helped bring an older structure up to a standard that allows Cornell to better implement its transportation goals including a campus-wide initiative to reach carbon neutrality by 2035.
