From here to there: The evolving landscape of urbanization and mobility

This article is a snapshot of the current state of development, mobility and parking. These three domains are highly interdependent and formulate how we experience places. It is my hope that what I have provided gives some insight into where we currently are and where we are going with the development of communities across America.

Western Kentucky University - Parking Structure 3

Western Kentucky University’s Parking Structure 3 (PS3) was constructed to add a minimum of 500 parking spaces to an existing parking lot serving residents, commuters, and special events. Because the project was funded with student fees, the garage design had to be simple, efficient, and provide a good value to the students. The site proved to be very challenging due to its location within a floodplain and within a karst region with subsurface caves and a known risk for sink holes. There was little budget for extras.

Western Kentucky University's journey to Parksmart certification

Which is why, after much consideration and widespread support from our membership, we have changed our name from the International Parking Institute (IPI) to the International Parking and Mobility Institute (IPMI).
